Rhythm Kids - pre instrumental fun music group classes for younger children
Rhythm Kids - Fun Music class
Teacher: Liz Nichols or Alison Lawless The Kerikeri School Of Music is resuming its popular 'Rhythm Kids' classes, introducing children to the delights of music.
These are classes run for two age groups: pre-school ages (4-5yrs) and for 5 to 7 yr olds.
Utilising mostly percussion instruments easily played by children, our tutors lead the children on a voyage of discovery in the wonderful world of music. Combining simple exercises and games with a general music-appreciation approach, learning becomes fun while the kids' understanding and competence grow at an easy pace. Many of the young people who have been involved with these classes have gone on to begin the study of other instruments (piano, guitar, voice, clarinet, sax, etc), as their physical and mental development progresses The classes are kept small enough to allow all the children to have plenty of opportunities to play different basic percussion instruments (and use their voices!) and interact with each other. The length of the sessions, 45 minutes, has been found to fit well with their energy and concentration spans.
These classes are offered subject to demand, please express your interest as soon as you are able.
