Kerikeri School of Music recognises that music teaching is a close proximity business and that as with other close proximity activities it must exercise particular precautions to protect people against Covid 19 infection.
For the safety of its pupils and safety of the community we proudly comply with all public health authority and governmental directives for best business practise in the pandemic environment. Therefore the school operates using the My Vaccine Pass and the Covid Management Traffic-Light system.
We also require all teachers to be fully vaccinated against Covid 19 .
From January 2022 we require
1)Everyone 12 years and older entering the premises during teaching hours are required to have shown proof of vaccination (My Vaccine Pass) against Covid 19 to their teacher or a representative of the Kerikeri School of Music. Regular attendees need do this only once, provided that their teacher is in attendance at time of subsequent visits to verify this.
2)All people entering premises must sign in with Covid App or on paper record.
3)One meter distancing is to be observed.
4)Wearing masks is mandatory for all adults and children 10 years and older. Masks are strongly encouraged for younger visitors and pupils (under 12 year olds account for approximately 25% of Covid 19 cases in NZ). Exception to the mask rule will only be made to allow singing and wind instrument lessons or for a verifiable health concern. When masks are not in use a HEPA air purifier should be operated during the lesson.
